Dr. Se young Han completed his medical school at Kyunghee University College of Medicine in South Korea, and his Internal Medical Residency program at Saint Frances Hospital in Evaston, Illinois. After the residency, he served as a teaching attending at Southern Illinois University, then joined the bone marrow transplant program as a hospitalist at Washington University in St. Louis. After bone marrow transplant hospitalist career, he proceeded to finish his Hematology-Oncology fellowship at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Han is ABIM Board-Certified in Oncology and Hematology.

Dr. Han was honored with an award for Outstanding Fellow from the Minnesota Society of Oncology, MN for 2 consecutive years. Dr. Han has published papers of acute myeloid leukemia research during his training.

Dr. Han meticulously analyzes each patient’s test results, takes detailed notes on their medical history, and performs thorough physical examinations. These are some of the critical steps he takes to determine the most appropriate treatment options for each of his patients. When it comes to cancer care, Dr. Han values informed decision making greatly and helps patients maintain their quality of life. He not only places the evidence-based treatment options but also centers patients’ decisions upon a full understanding of their disease.
