After completing his bachelor’s degree at Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA, Dr. Matthew Stuart earned his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Newark, NJ, and completed his Internal Medicine residency and Hematology/Oncology fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx. NY. Dr. Stuart is ABIM Board-Certified in Medical Oncology and Hematology.

 

At Montefiore, Dr. Stuart served as the Chief Hematology Fellow and was honored with the Leo M. Davidoff Society Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Teaching of Medical Students. He was also awarded the Program Innovation and Improvement Award for his efforts in implementing evidence-based, patient-centric, and cost-conscious patient care. As a highly respected member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society, Dr. Stuart has shown consistent effort to promote humanism in medicine and treat the patient as a whole.


Current areas of research include, 
evaluating race-based differences in treatment complications in patients with metastatic prostate cancer, improving vaccination rates in patients receiving chemotherapy, and providing community outreach to increase lung cancer screening and early detection.
